ID 212 Instrument disinfection
Our recommendation for instruments containing rubber and/or silicone parts
ID 212 is a highly effective aldehyde-free concentrate for cleaning and disinfection of general and surgical instruments (e.g. mirrors, probes, tweezers, forceps, etc.) as well as rotating instruments that are sensitive to alkaline and alcohol-based cleaners (e.g. soldered carbide burs, fused alumina grindstones and rubber polishers used for dental applications), nickel-titanium endodontic instruments and certain artificial resin-bonded instruments. We particularly recommend the use of ID 212 on instruments with rubber and/or silicone parts because it is so gentle on the materials.

1ID 212 has been tested under high organic loads in accordance with EN 13727, EN 13624, EN 14348, EN 14476, EN 14561, EN 14562, EN 14563, EN 17111 and the DVV/RKI guideline.
Not only does this product satisfy the VAH requirements for bactericidal/yeasticidal disinfection with a low application concentration of just 2%, but the prepared disinfection solution can be used for up to 7 days, making ID 212 incredibly cost-effective. It is important to note that the cleaning and disinfection steps must be carried out separately. While the disinfection solution can be used for up to 7 days, the cleaning solution must be changed at least on a daily basis, or immediately if it is visibly contaminated.
Once the ID 212 has been applied, the instruments must be thoroughly rinsed off under running water for 15 seconds (drinking water quality or better, preferably using demineralised water) and dried.
