BWL – Digital Business Management
Interview with Justin Richter
Which work-study programme are you doing at DÜRR DENTAL?
I am completing a work-study programme in Business Administration - Digital Business Management.
Why did you decide to do a work-study programme at DÜRR DENTAL?
I decided to do a work-study programme at DÜRR DENTAL because the company has a very good reputation in the dental industry, and the combination of theory and practice gives me the opportunity to gain valuable work experience at an early stage to optimally prepare myself for my future career.
What do you like best about your work-study programme so far?
What I like best about my work-study programme is the direct application of what I have learned in a real working environment. By working closely with experienced colleagues, I can put my theoretical knowledge directly into practice and receive valuable feedback to help me continually improve.
What areas have you worked in so far, and can you give some examples of the tasks you’ve done here?
I’ve worked in the areas of “International Sales” and “International Marketing” and was involved in the planning of the IDS (trade fair) and an incentive tour. I was also able to accompany many customer visits and carry out a comprehensive market analysis for the International Sales team.
What was the most fun that you had during your work-study programme with us?
The most fun day by far was when all the trainees and students spent a day together at Tripsdrill Adventure Park.
If you were to describe your work-study programme in emojis, which ones would you use?
️📚👨💼📊🖥️
What was the most impressive “light bulb” moment you had during your work-study programme?
My most impressive ““light bulb moment” came when I found myself in situations where I had to present complex ideas clearly and convincingly to different target groups. During my work-study programme, I realised how important clear communication and convincing presentation skills are for exchanging ideas and influencing decisions.
Share a story where you felt your work had a real impact.
When I was allowed to prepare the market analysis for the International Sales team, and this was used as the basis for planning and approaching customers in individual countries.
How does the combination of study and practice help you to develop personally and professionally?
The combination of study and practice helps me grow both professionally and personally. Not only do I learn about the latest theories and technologies, but I can also improve my communication and teamwork skills and develop a deeper understanding of the company's processes.
If you were an instructor at your university for a day, what subject would you teach the students?
As an instructor, I would probably teach students in the areas of finance or strategic management.
If you could go back in time, what tip would you give yourself as a young work-study student?
Start studying for your exams early!
What would you tell future applicants?
Besides all the stress during your studies, don't forget the fun of this terrific time. It’s an arduous but enjoyable time of very strong personal development, and you should make smart use of this opportunity.
