Aerosols and spray mists can be expected to be generated in almost every treatment in the dental practice. These are a mixture of liquid and often also solid suspended particles. The current threat from the corona virus SARS-CoV-2 gives reason to assess the risk from aerosols and spray mist more precisely and to define effective countermeasures. Our report highlights scientific findings on the novel corona virus and derives recommendations for dental practices.
