Plaque removal on patients with xerostomia

Patient Information
Male, 63 years old. Currently on medication for high blood pressure / hyperlipidemia, xerostomia.
Initial Situation
Patient came to the practice due to an upcoming restoration with crowns. Noticeably little amount of saliva & slightly swollen gum due to xerostomia. Brushes his teeth 3 times a day, flosses occasionally.
Treatment and result
1. Took pictures before treatment.
2. Application of plaque coloring agent for plaque control.
3. Used MyLunos powder jet handpiece & Lunos Prophy Powder Gentle Clean.
4. Took pictures after treatment and gave the patients an oral health education.
Successfully removed all the plaque, especially near the cervical surfaces.

I was able to clean the plaque off the teeth very efficiently and swiftly. I felt that the powder jet treatment with MyLunos was much easier than cleaning teeth with a scaler.
I felt comfortable during the teeth cleaning with way less pain!
