Male, 38 years, non-smoker
Diagnosis: periodontitis, gingivitis, generally healthy
Initial Situation
The patient reported bleeding gums and moving teeth.
A periodontal examination was performed and radiographs were taken. The patient was diagnosed.
Exam: API = 100%, PBI = 100%
PSI Upper jaw: 4 / 4 / 4
PSI Lower jaw: 4 / 4 / 4
A large number of deep periodontal pockets. I performed an examination with the Pa-on® electronic probe and treatment started.
Treatment and result
The aim of the treatment is to remove the stone, biofilm and to educate the patient. Treatment was divided into 3 stages. The first is hygiene. The second is deep cleaning and periodontal stabilization. The third step is the reconstruction of missing teeth.
First visit: 13.10.2023r
Exam: API = 100%, PB I= 100%
PSI Upper jaw: 4 / 4 / 4
PSI Lower jaw: 4 / 4 / 4
Taken: Radiograph and calculus removal with Vector scaler handpiece. Finally polishing teeth with Lunos Prophy Paste Two in One.
Hygiene instruction: I adjusted the interdental brushes.
Second visit: 27.10.2023r
Exam: API = 40%, PBI = 80%
Stain removal with Vector scaler handpiece and Vector Fluid polish. Finally polishing teeth with Lunos Prophy Paste Two in One.
Hygiene instruction: size control the interdental brushes. And learning the correct brushing method.
Third visit: 10.11.2023r
Exam: API = 20%, PBI= 20%
Stain removal with Vector handpiece and Vector Fluid polish. Finally polishing teeth with Lunos Prophy Paste Super Soft.
And subsequent visits once a month for 7 months, only root polishing with Vector paro handpiece and Vector Fluid polish.
Periodontal stabilization, shellowing of periodontal pockets, reduction of bleeding and swelling.
Clinician Feedback
Gums pink, hard. Hygiene is very good. Single spots of bleeding. Motivated patient.
The patient feels the difference. Feels a pleasant smell from the mouth. The teeth don’t move and the gums don’t bleed.
