She comes for a routine dental hygiene on 12 May 2023, six months after the previous one where no problem was detected. After unsuccessful orthodontic treatment, when the bite remains open.

Initial Situation
Objectively, swelling of the gums is noticeable mainly in the places of the first and second premolars. Probing revealed purulent exudation and periodontal pockets up to 10 mm.

Treatment and result
Treatment
During the first treatment, the interdental brushes and brushing technique were optimized. This was followed by the second treatment, during which the periodontal pockets were measured and a periodontal status was created. This was followed by supragingival cleaning to remove biofilm and calculus. In a further session, a deep cleaning was performed with the Vector device, including the application of Vector Fluid Polish. Six weeks later, a follow-up appointment was performed, during which photos of the current status were taken.
The aim of the treatment was to eliminate deep periodontal pockets and, in particular, to make teeth with pus outflow inflammation-free. After the treatment was completed, the patient was recommended a new orthodontic consultation and correction of the open bite.

The result:
The patient came for his first check-up on 1 September 2023. The situation has improved significantly, which is also confirmed by the enclosed X-ray documentation. The periodontal stems remained in the places where the teeth are overloaded due to the inadequate bite. There is no longer any purulent exudation or significant bleeding.

The patient underwent a full supra- and subgingival treatment due to deep periodontal pockets, purulent inflammation and bleeding. Several sessions of supragingival treatment were performed to prepare her for deep cleaning, which was performed with hand instruments in combination with the Vector device. This made it possible to treat deep periodontal pockets effectively and painlessly without the need for anesthesia.
The result of this treatment led to a significant reduction of periodontal pockets including complete healing. The patient no longer experiences any discomfort and her gums do not bleed. She has now had an orthodontic consultation and is waiting for treatment to begin.
