What training programme are you doing at DÜRR DENTAL?
I’m training to be an industrial administrator.
Why did you decide to do an apprenticeship at DÜRR DENTAL?
I wanted to work for a company that could reliably train me even during crises like COVID. I had already completed an internship here and really liked the working atmosphere.
What do you like best about your training programme so far?
I am getting lots of insights into interesting departments and am getting to know lots of great people!
What areas have you been in so far, and can you give some examples of the tasks you have done here?
I have already worked in many different departments. Initially, I worked in the commercial departments, such as shipping, assembly and warehousing. In these departments, you learn a lot about the products, how they are manufactured and how production is organised. I am currently in product management. Here I can gain insight into the planning that goes into every product. You really learn a lot, from the concept of a compressor to its construction.
What was the most fun enjoyable that you experienced during your training with us?
The excursions to Orochemie, Dürr Optronik and, of course, the trip to Tripsdrill.
I was looking for a company that could reliably train me even during crises like the COVID pandemic. Having already completed an internship at DÜRR DENTAL, I was impressed by the working atmosphere, the tasks and the colleagues.
What skills have you acquired during your training that will help you in your daily life?
Above all, I’ve learned to organise myself better and take responsibility.
Is there a particular story about a challenge that you overcame during your training?
Organising the introductory days for the new trainees was a challenge, as I had never done anything like this before.

What's the coolest “light bulb” moment you've had during your apprenticeship?
The first time I managed to request my holiday without asking for help.
What advice would you give to others who are considering a training programme in our company?
Actively write and submit report books every week.
Can you share a situation where you felt like you were an important part of the team?
I have felt that way in several departments, but especially when I first started and I was still new here, I felt like I was part of the team in shipping. I thought that was really exciting at the time, as I was still completely new and didn't know what to expect.
If you could go back in time, what tip would you give yourself as a young trainee?
Don't stress so much and have fun; time goes by far too quickly to do that.
What would you tell future applicants?
Start out with self-confidence and motivation and don't stress if you don't know something or make a mistake. You are here to learn and don't have to know everything already. Above all, you should try to have as much fun as possible.
