Patient Information
A 32-year-old man was referred by a dentist because of bleeding gums. In the medical history, the patient did not mention any general diseases or allergies. The patient does not take any medications and does not smoke.
Initial Situation
The examination reveals deposits of plaque and tartar. Periodontal examination revealed periodontal pockets within the anterior teeth and bleeding after probing.
BoP = 100 %, API = 90 %
The patient did not come for dental hygiene due to the sensitivity that occurred during tooth cleaning.
Treatment and result
1. Mouth rinsing the oral cavity before treatment
2. Staining of dental plaque
3. Cleaning the tooth surface with Lunos Prohy Powder Perio Combi
4. Cleaning periodontal pockets with Vector Scaler handpiece
5. Subgingival powder water jet treatment with Lunos Prophy Powder Perio Combi
6. Cleaning periodontal pockets with Vector handpiece and Vector Fluid polish
7. Polishing with Lunos Prophy Paste Two in One
8. Fluoridation with Lunos Fluoride Gel
The combination of an ultrasound and powder jet treatment proved highly effective, enabling the comfortable removal of biofilm and tartar from the tooth surface, which are the primary causes of inflammation.
Clinician Feedback
During the procedure, we always prioritize the patient's comfort. If a patient experiences pain during the treatment, they might choose to forgo future hygiene treatments, potentially leading to a decline in oral health. By using Vector Fluid polish and Lunos Prophy Powder Perio Combi, the patient did not require anesthesia, enhancing both the accuracy and effectiveness of the procedure.
The patient was afraid of high sensitivity of his teeth during the procedure and pain in his gums. Thanks to the use of Vector Fluid polish, the calculus removal procedure was comfortable for the patient. Additionally, when Lunos Prophy Powder Perio Combi was used, the patient did not report any gum problems despite severe inflammation
